Three programs, one charge: continued education of today's youth, and a public memory of Galveston County's rodeo cowboys.
Scholarships
At the first Galveston County Rodeo Cowboy Hall of Fame Induction and Scholarship Banquet, two young women received scholarships for college. That is the work we intend to grow - with community gifts, not with invented numbers.

Galveston County Rodeo Cowboy Hall of Fame
The inaugural class, announced in 2025, honors cowboys who mentored Harold Cash and many others. Inductees must have been a rodeo cowboy and lived in Galveston County at least 10 years. Most of the first class had passed on; their families received the awards.

STAR rodeo participants and others who served Galveston County rodeos outside the arena received buckles. Corporate trophies went to Amoco Federal Credit Union and Better Care Matters Hospice Care. Harold Cash presented a surprise honor to his father, George Cash, then 101.
Living Legend Charity & Scholarship Rodeo
The 26th annual rodeo was held Saturday, May 3, 2025, at Jack Brooks Park / Galveston County Fairgrounds, 5700 FM 2004, Hitchcock, Texas. Events included ladies' and youth barrel racing, breakaway and tie-down roping, team roping, and bull riding. Rev. Chris Carter Sr. announced. World Champion bull rider Charlie Sampson - the first Black American cowboy to win a PRCA world title - came to encourage young riders.
Young competitors traveled from as far as Tulsa and California. The night is family-friendly by design: kids in the stands, horses in the grass lot, and a grand finale on a bull named Hurricane.
